1.       The name of the organization will be “National Council of Indian Motorcycle Clubs”.  The only authorized abbreviation of the name will be NCOIMC.  The National website will be ncoimc.com.

2.      The founding clubs are the REZ RIDERS INDIAN MOTORCYCLE CLUB and REZ NDNS INDIAN MOTORCYCLE CLUB.   The founding date is September 10, 2008.

3.      The National website will be maintained by REZ NDNS IMC.

4.      Any Indian Motorcycle Club (IMC), Motorcycle Club (MC), Association or Tribal Riders Group may petition to join the National Council as long as one factor of membership requires individuals to be members of a federally recognized or state recognized Indian Tribe.  The group petitioning may have non-Indian members who meet different factors of membership.

5.      Each accepted individual group will have one member sit in council, with all members of the Council having equal standing, regardless as to time of membership in the National Council.  Each member of the Council will have one vote.

6.      In voting a simple majority of those present will carry the vote..

7.      The National Council will meet once a year in the month of July.  The meeting will rotate through the time zones in the following order:  Mountain, Eastern, Central, Western.  The meeting location and date will be decided by the Council, in an internet vote, in January of the year of the meeting.

8.      All issues that any member wishes to discuss will be circulated to the full membership so that an agenda for the national meeting may be established no later than 60 days before the meeting date.  Each issue will be allowed 5 minutes of discussion.  Emergency additions to the agenda will be brought up at the end of the agenda in new business.

9.      A patch showing membership of the National Council can be worn by individual members of each club.  The patch will be worn on the right shoulder of any individual wishing to wear the patch.  The patch will consist of a four direction medicine wheel with the words National Council of arching across the top of the medicine wheel and the words Indian Motorcycle Clubs arching across the bottom of the medicine wheel.  This patch will be the only authorized patch of the NCOIMC.  Member clubs can buy the patch at cost and charge their members for the patch.

10.   These by-laws may only be amended at the National Meeting of the NCOIMC.  A member wishing to amend the by-laws will make a motion and the motion must be seconded.  Then each member of the Council will vote by voice on the amendment.  A simple majority is all that is required to pass the amendment.

11.   Minutes of the National meeting will be kept by an individual designated by the Council.  The minutes will be posted on the national site after a typed report of the minutes has been passed to each member of the Council for approval.

 

These by-laws are put into effect on the 10^th day of September, 2008.
